Cooperation in Hotels & Tourism: Union Minister meets Chinese delegation

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung received a delegation led by Director of Myanmar Representative Office of Dehong Autonomous Prefecture Chambers of Commerce Industry (Nay Pyi Taw) Mr. Li Qigui at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday to resume the existing tourism industries between Dehong Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province of China and Myanmar and cooperation in hotel and tourism sectors.

During the meeting, they discussed China-Myanmar Paukphaw Friendship celebrations, opening courses for human resource development, re-operating charter flights from Mansi of Yunnan Province to Mandalay and Yangon, development of hotels and tourism industries between China and Myanmar, promoting tourism sector and opening of language skill trainings.

The Chinese tourism market is one of the driving forces of the world's outbound tourism market in striving for seeking more overseas tour markets to visit more foreign tourists to Myanmar. In 2019, the Chinese tourists are the most travelling to destinations around the world with about 155 million.  More than 1.4 million Chinese tourists visited Myanmar in 2019.
