Consumer Affairs: Union Minister inspects Commodity Testing, Quality Management

Union Minister for Commerce U Aung Naing Oo on Wednesday inspected the Commodity Testing and Quality Management Center under the Department of Consumer Affairs in Hlegu Township of Yangon Region.

During the inspection, the Union Minister also heard report on laboratories for testing agricultural products, qualities test, performance conditions by fiscal year, opening of human resource development courses, research, efforts to obtain internationally recognized laboratory certification, establishment of Myanmar’s natural rubber quality testing laboratory, International Rubber Association certification status and plans.

After the inspection, the Union Minister met with staff and called for efforts to upgrade laboratories and sharpen skills before coordinating the plans of the Center.
