Competition commission: Commission regular meeting (3/2022) held

remark at the regular meeting (2/2022) of the commission held at the meeting hall of the ministry, Nay Pyi Taw at 10 AM on 12th December.

In his remark, the commission chairman said that the competition law is vital for the economy of the country, it’s a law protected from loss of interest as described in (b) of section-36 of state constitution stating “protect and prevent acts that injure public interests through monopolization or manipulation of prices by an individual or group with intent to endanger fair competition in economic activities”.

It will be proceeded to release the basic principles of competition included in the competition law, set the appropriate approaches ought to be executed for the effective implementation of competition law in accordance with the authority and responsibilities of the commission.

The awareness programs to disseminate the knowledge on the competition law not only for the private industries but also government departments will be carried out.

Next, the responsible officials clarified the completion of implementing the decisions made by previous meeting (2/2022), status of resolving regarding the complaint cases on competition and the future work plans to be carried out by the commission and the commission chairman replied to the clarifications and concluded the meeting.

Also present at the meeting were the commission vice chairman and members and the officials from the commission office, it’s learnt.
