Competing rallies held in Brazil during May Day

During the gathering in Brazil's most populous city, leftists called for a massive voter turn-out by progressives in upcoming elections later this year as a repudiation of conservative candidate President Jair Bolsonaro.

Activists waved socialist flags and held banners celebrating unions and socialists' parties, dancing to music and applauding the speeches of leftist leaders exhorting supporters to vote in the upcoming elections and bring progressive change to the country.
