Commitment to ASEAN Vision 2045 : ASEAN Community Vision Knowledge-Sharing Session

The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and the Myanmar Women Entrepreneurs’ Association (MWEA) jointly organized a knowledge-sharing session on the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Strategic Plan 2026–2030 in Yangon on Saturday.

In her opening remarks, Union Minister Dr. Wah Wah Maung reaffirmed Myanmar’s commitment to maintaining strong relations with ASEAN. She highlighted that the private sector plays a central role in driving ASEAN economic integration and called for closer public–private collaboration to identify and seize regional economic opportunities.

Experts and officials from the MWEA, the Department of Foreign Economic Relations , and the private sector made presentations on the AEC Strategic Plan (2026–2030) and discussed opportunities for private sector participation in ASEAN economic integration.

[Soundbite] During the Q&A session, participants engaged actively, and officials provided clarifications and guidance on ASEAN-related programs and commitments. [Soundbite] The ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint 2025 has reached its conclusion, and ASEAN leaders have adopted the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 at the 46th ASEAN Summit, envisioning a “Resilient, Innovative, Dynamic, and People-Centered ASEAN” for the next 20 years.

ASEAN has developed implementation frameworks across its three community pillars, including connectivity initiatives, and outlined four consecutive five-year strategic plans (2026–2045) for the ASEAN Economic Community. The first of these, the AEC Strategic Plan 2026–2030, has already been endorsed, defining key actions to be implemented in the coming years.
