Commemorative Event : World Bamboo Day observed in Nay Pyi Taw

World Bamboo Day was observed in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday, with the attendance of Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U San Oo.

In his speech, the Union Minister urged the expansion of bamboo use and the production of value-added bamboo products through innovation, thereby promoting MSME businesses and supporting farmers.

The ceremony featured the screening of a video clip commemorating World Bamboo Day, practical demonstrations of bamboo products and bamboo-based foodstuffs, and a meeting between departmental officials and private entrepreneurs. September 18 was designated as World Bamboo Day to promote the economic benefits of bamboo, encourage bamboo-based industries, promote the sustainable use of bamboo, and raise public awareness.

This year's theme for World Bamboo Day is "Bamboo Beyond Borders."
