Commemoration of Independence: Mother and Child Competition held in Nay Pyi Taw

In commemoration of the 75th Anniversary Independence Day, the Myanmar Maternal and Child Welfare Association held the Mother and Child Competition on Tuesday in Nay Pyi Taw.

This event was attended by Chairperson of the Association Professor Dr. San San Myint Aung, vice chairpersons and central executive committee members as well as many other officials from the Ministry of Health.

In her speech, the Chairperson stressed the Association’s efforts for mothers and children including awareness programmes, healthcare, opening of daycare centers and competitions.

Newborn babies and the babies aged 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 1 year and a half and 2 years as well as twin and triplet and 20 mothers participated in this Competition which focused on weight, height, hygiene, health status, vaccination and age-specific cognitive development.

The 1st prize, 2nd prize, 3rd prize and consolation prizes were awarded to winners. Also, commemorative gifts were presented to judges. The Competition concluded with a performance staged by pre-primary school students.
