









The 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Independence Day commemorative booths, traditional food stalls of ethnic people and decorated floats are on display for the public from the 4th to 8th January at the Tabaung ground in the southern part of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw.
Maung Maung, Director, IPRD, Kayin State said "Our booth representing Kayin State features photos and staff which portray Kayin customs and traditions, wearing styles, local commodities, famous recreational sites, local products, development programmes, famous pagoda and natural resources. The visitors can participate in quiz activities and receive gifts. We participate in this event to share knowledge about our Kayin State to the visitors especially the students and our younger generation."
Principal, Weaving and Vocational Training School, Taunggyi said "Our booth features performances of weaving including producing lotus thread, weaving shawl using lotus thread and silk thread and the products produced by our school. Lotus thread is one of the precious products of Inle Region and the value-added products made of lotus thread are also used widely. Therefore, people can earn good income by doing lotus thread production. Nowadays, it’s rare to find traditional weaving businesses so we participate in this event to preserve our tradition and culture."
Thiha Zin, No.2 Mining Enterprise said "We display mineral resources produced in Tanintharyi Region such as Tungsten and Tin and explain about production processes of the resources and their usage to the visitors."
Zaw Moe, Deputy Manager, Orient Pearl Co., Ltd said "We display the processes of pearl farming step by step. Our pearls are also famous in international market as South Sea Cultured Pearls. Pearls production also benefit our nation’s economy. Exploring our booth can help the visitors gain knowledge about pearl production systematically."
At the event, 25 booths from the Ministries, 15 booths from the Nay Pyi Taw Council, Regions and States and 15 booths of ethnic traditional food, altogether 55, 48 parade floats representing respective ministries, Nay Pyi Taw Council, Regions and States and Tatmadaw are on display.
