According to a study released in 2021, glaciers are melting faster, losing 31% more snow and ice per year than they did 15 years earlier. The study found almost all the world's glaciers are melting, even those that used to be stable.
The near-uniform melting is a sign of increased temperatures, produced by burning fossil fuels, according to the study from ETH Zurich and the University of Toulouse in France.
