Collaborative Donation: 300 Well-wishers from Vietnam makes good deeds

Along with grand scale ceremony held at Shawdagon Pagoda in Yangon on 18th of June, well-wishers and Buddhist devotees from Vietnam donated offertories and day meals to over 1,000 members of Sangha led by Venerable Sayadawgyis.

Yangon Region Chief Minster U Soe Thein attended the ceremony. First, the ceremony was opened along with the recitation of NamoTassa three times. And the congregation observed five precepts administered by the State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee Secretary

Sayadaw and listened to the Pritta Suttas recited by the members of Sangha.

Next, well-wishers donated offertories to the Venerable Sayadaws.

After that, Tipitakadhara Dammabandagarika Rammawadi Sayadaw delivered the sermon.

Rammawadi Sayadaw, Baddanta Indapala said "Today celebration is a grand scale one and precious. Such devotional offerings can only be conducted with the presence of Buddha Sasana. Today we can see powerful good intentions for donation and beliefs in Buddhism of the well-wishers from Vietnam. They also respect and value Sanghas. They come and support and make donations whenever it needs. I wish all of the well-wishers including audience to gain much good merits from such donations."

In return, Vietnam Sayadaw Baddanta Sammaditthi and U Win Maung Maung gave words of thanks respectively.

Chairman, Rakhita Swam-Ar Charity Group, Win Maung Maung said "We have 7 Nayakasayadawgyis in our charity group. One of them, Rammawadi Sayadaw asked me to hold such event while Buddhist devotees from Vietnam want to make the donation. I am so happy for their good offers and contributions in terms of Buddha Sasana. The well-wishers from our country also donate the offertories. It’s learnt that Vietnamese well-wishers are continuously going to make such donations in other places of monasteries and nunnery schools till 21st of June."

Also, Vietnam Sayadaw U Silaguna delivered sermon and shared the merits gained. After the ceremony was concluded by reciting “Buddha Sasanan Ciran Titthatu” three times, 300 Vietnamese well-wishers who are eager to make precious contributions for the Buddha Sasana donated offertories to over 1000 members of Sangha at the Shwedagon pagoda platform. The State Administration Council also donated 1000 alms-bowls.

Right after that, all the members of Sangha were offered day meals by the well-wishers.

10,000 oil lights offering ceremony and Dhamma preaching event are going to be conducted at the pagoda platform in the evening also.
