




Natural Gas Vehicle Departmentunder the Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE) of the Ministry of Energy is distributing more than 18 million cubic feet of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) on a daily basis for YBS buses, taxis and other motor vehicles in Yangon Region.
General Manager, Natural Gas Vehicle Department, Kyaw Thura Win, said " Out of 41 CNG filling stations in Yangon Region, 1 CNG tank trailer is temporarily closed due to transportation difficulties and the remaining 40 stations are selling CNG daily. Currently, more than 18 million cubic feet of CNG are being distributed to around 30,000 CNG vehicles per day from all CNG stations. Currently, CNG is being distributed in time extension for the convenience of the passengers."
Moreover,arrangements have been made to run the back-up generators for continuous distribution of CNG if there is a power outage.
Aiming to have good natural gas inlet line pressure and to get electricity regularly, efforts are being made in cooperation with YESC and concerned officials from Nay Pyi Taw council area.
General Manager, Natural Gas Vehicle Department, Kyaw Thura Win, said " Some CNG stations can still distribute CNG on a part-time basis because of electricity outages. Plans are being made to supply electricity to some CNG stations as a priority."
It is learnt that 40 CNG Stations under the Natural Gas Vehicle Department are providing services daily from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm in Yangon Region.
