










The prize awarding and closing ceremony of Basic Education Student Sports Festival for the 2022-2023 Academic Years and hosting dinner was held at the Social Zone of Sports Training Camp, Nay Pyi Taw at 6:30 PM on January 27 with the attendance of Union Minister Dr. Nyunt Pe, deputy ministers for Education and Sports and Youth Affairs, senior officials, the administers, coaches and students of athletes from the regions and states.
In his greeting, the deputy minister for education U Zaw Win said the sports medals and records secured by the students from the regions and states are appreciated and honored. All are urged to make efforts to be excellent not only in the sports but also in the school lessons when getting back the own region. In coming students’ sports festival in 2023-2024 academic year, apart from the sports events in this festival, the swimming, table tennis, badminton and basketball competitions will be held and he expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs for its contributions for enabling to hold the students’ sport festival.
Next, the Union Minister Dr. Nyunt Pe handed over the cash of prize provided by the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing to the sport teams from the regions and states with 5 million Kyats each.
Then, the deputy minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Myo Hlaing awarded the first, second and third prize winner teams in Sepaktakraw competition, Deputy Minister for Education U Zaw Win to the prize winner teams in the Volleyball (Women) competition, deputy minister Dr. Zaw Myint to the prize winner teams in the Volleyball (Men) competition and the Union Minister Dr. Nyunt Pe to the prize winner teams in the football (Women) competition.
Next, the director general U Kyaw Swer Thwin of the Department of Basic Education presented the certificate of honor and the deputy permanent secretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs accepted.
And the director general U Kyaw Swer Thwin clarified regarding with the Basic Education Student Sports Festival for the 2022-2023 Academic Years and made a closing the festival.
Afterward, the Union Minister and attendees enjoyed the dinner and the athlete students performed the songs and dances, it’s learnt.
