





The clarification meeting on the operating condition of Yangon Region Public Transport Committee (YRTC), Yangon Urban Public Transportation Public Co., Ltd (YUPT) and Yangon Bus Public Company (YBPC) was held at the Regional Government Office meeting hall on 9 March.
Initially, Yangon region government Chief Minister U Soe Thein gave the speech.
Then, the officials from YRTC, YUPT and YBPC explained the running condition of 127 YBS bus lines in the Yangon region, about the exited passenger bus terminals, and the need to expand the terminals condition, using Yangon Payment Services (YPS) to eliminate the overcharging and to make fare payment easier for commuters in 1,984 YBS buses from 49 bus lines and current activities by the sectors.
Then, the officials discussed the operation of bus lines and traffic rules. The chief minister also stressed the need to implement Yangon payment service cards as soon as possible, to run YBS buses and trucks systematically, to prevent the traffic congestion, to provide the best services to the public and to supervise the traffic rules and regulations. It is also reported that the necessary matters were coordinated with the relevant departments.
