






The Union Election Commission is conducting clarification and demonstration regarding with the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) and it was carried out at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture in the morning on August 18 and attended by the Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, Deputy Minister U Aye Tun and the officers and staff members of the Ministry.
In the afternoon, the clarification and demonstration were performed at the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development and attended by the Union Minister U Hla Moe, Deputy Minister U Myint Soe and the officers and staff members of the Ministry and conducted test voting.
The clarification and demonstration regarding with the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) was carried out by the members of UEC U Aung Lwin Oo, U Ko Ko Lwin and officials concerned from the UEC.
The Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) has been invented after thoroughly studying the voting machine designs, voting machines and system of voting processes of 34 countries including USA, Belgium, Brazil, France, Argentina, India, Venezuela.
By using this voting machine, it’s clear and easy for the voters in their voting and the voting result will also be counted accurately. By voting through voting machine, it can prevent the voting frauds occurred by printing and distributing ballot papers as well as the problem of invalid voting papers which became useless of voting by the voters.
A total of 117 officers and staff members of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development and 240 from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture attended the clarification and demonstration of electronic voting machine and conducted test voting.
