Various celebration activities in various places across China featuring unique local folk customs have been held in the run-up to the Lunar New Year holiday, which starts on Saturday this year. The Spring Festival is the most important holiday for Chinese people, and the grandest annual occasion for family reunion. Traditional foods are also being made across the country to celebrate the festival. To prepare festive goods, the southerners and northerners often think differently.

From the snowy landscapes of the north to the vibrant streets of the south, the explosive symphony of fireworks would resonate through the nation during the Chinese New Year holiday, which runs from February 10 to 17 this year. The festival is based on a 12-year Zodiac cycle of characters, with 2024 being the Year of the Dragon, a mythical creature symbolizing auspiciousness and good luck in China.
