Chinese FM meets IAEA Chief, calling for nuclear restraint and deeper cooperation

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi on Thursday in Beijing.

During the meeting, Wang Yi called for nuclear restraint and deeper cooperation with the IAEA to ensure nuclear safety and security amid rising Middle East conflicts. In addition, Wang noted that the IAEA's critical role in global nuclear governance and expressed China's willingness to deepen cooperation with the agency to safeguard the nuclear non-proliferation system and contribute to global peace.
