China-Europe Freight Train services expand

China-Europe freight train services registered solid expansion in terms of network coverage and freight growth in the first quarter of 2024, data from China’s railway operator showed on Sunday.
China-Europe freight train trips took place and goods were transported in the first three months, up 9 percent and 10 percent year on year respectively. New international freight train routes have been launched recently to connect major Chinese cities with cities in Europe.
A total of six trips passed through the southern corridor of China-Europe freight train service, up 200 percent year on year. As of the end of March, some 87,000 China-Europe freight train trips had been made in total, providing services for 222 cities across 25 European countries, according to China Railway.
