Restaurants from 38 neighborhoods of Chile's capital Santiago reopened on Wednesday. The "Step by Step" government program is gradually removing restrictions on the 7.5 million people confined since May, after a couple of months of statistics showing a drop in coronavirus infections in some Santiago districts.

But there is a curfew throughout the country between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Hospital occupancy rates and deaths from coronavirus have stabilized across much of Chile over the past days. The coronavirus is still spreading in Chile and experts have warned that infection could pick up as the country restarts its economy.
