Central Committee Meeting: MoALI Union Minister delivered the opening speech

The 16th meeting of the Central Committee for Management of Vacant, Fallow, and Virgin Lands was held on the afternoon of July 22nd in the meeting hall of the Union Minister's Office at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation in Nay Pyi Taw.

First, Union Minister U Min Naung delivered a speech, stating that in line with the Central Committee's duties and responsibilities for the economic development of the State, this meeting will discuss, scrutinize, and approve applications for the right to use vacant, fallow, and virgin lands. These applications are for projects related to electricity generation (to meet energy demands), agriculture and livestock breeding (to ensure food security and enable exports). He emphasized that priority approval would be given to projects involving solar power generation, agriculture and livestock breeding, MSME, and "Quick Win" projects that yield benefits in a short period.

Following this, the Central Committee Secretary presented the work files to be discussed and decided upon at the meeting. The Chairman and members of the Central Committee then discussed and scrutinized each project.

It has been reported that at the meeting, which is the 16th held during the State Administration Council government's tenure, 18 topics were discussed and decided upon included scrutinizing and presenting work files with feedback from relevant ministries, work files resubmitted based on previous Central Committee meeting decisions, matters concerning the return of permitted rights to use land, requests for the refund of submitted security deposits, requests for extension of implementation periods and the status of outstanding land tax payments by those who have been granted rights to use land.
