Central Body meeting: SAC member, Central Body Chairman, DPM attended

The Central Body for Summoning People's Military Servants held a coordination meeting (1/2025) on January 28 at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Defense in Nay Pyi Taw.

Chairman of Central Body, member of State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Defense, General Maung Maung Aye, attended and delivered a speech. In his speech, the Cental Body Chairman General Maung Maung Aye, mentioned that since its establishment, the committee has held eight meetings. He noted that there has been a significant amount of misinformation and disinformation circulating among the public regarding the summoning of public service personnel.

This misinformation has spread not only through the media but also through individual citizens, causing public confusion and damaging the image of the recruitment process. He emphasized that if any wrongful actions were observed concerning the People Military Service Law, effective actions should be taken to address them. He also urged the officials to take appropriate action when they encounter misinformation and false reports regarding the people’s military service recruitment process.

Furthermore, the Central Body Vice Chairman, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) Lt-Gen. Kyaw Swer Lin, clarified that the summoning of People’s Military Servants should be conducted following the designated procedures and not through improper methods.

He stated that People’s Military Service Summoning is aimed at strengthening national defense, and therefore, it must be handled with the utmost integrity. He emphasized the need for officials at all levels, from townships to villages, to properly manage the recruitment process according to the law and guidelines.

The meeting continued with discussions among the central body members, Chairmen of Nay Pyi Taw Council, Regions and States  Bodies for Summoning People’s Military Servants. The Chairman of Central Body coordinated requirements upon the discussions.

In the concluding remarks, General Maung Maung Aye reiterated the importance of accurately compiling the required numbers for public service recruitment in accordance with the law and ensuring transparency in the process.

He stressed that the recruitment should be carried out in a lawful and systematic manner to gain the trust and acceptance of the public, and urged everyone involved to avoid coercion or unlawful collection methods. He encouraged officials to work diligently in compliance with the People’s Military Service Law and regulations to ensure the process is conducted smoothly and fairly.
