










The celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) was held in Nay Pyi Taw Tatkone on Sunday, with the attendance of Prime Minister U Nyo Saw and wife.
The celebration commenced with the display of LED Animation, followed by performance of the MRTV staff. Then, the Prime Minister unveiled the launching of three new private channels of Uni TV HD Channel, SNDSY Entertainment HD Channel and Channel 24 as well as a new private service of Softtech-DTH platform.
This was followed by screening of a video clip on "State Media, striving for the interest of the nation and people". In his speech, the Prime Minister praised the efforts of the MRTV, keeping abreast with the changing trend of age for serving the state and its people.
He urged all to continue serving the duties, handing the legacy to the new generation. Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn later presented the commemorative emblem of 80th anniversary MRTV to the Prime Minister.
Then, awards were presented to the winners of local and international competitions and those who strived for retransmission of MRTV Relay Stations which were suspended for regional situation.
The celebration continued with the entertainment programs by the artistes, along with the National Symphony Orchestra, traditional orchestra and modern music band. Then, the Prime Minister and party took a tour of MRTV building, observing the production and broadcasting works.
