Celebration in Loikaw: 66th Kayah Traditional Kay Htoe Boe Festival

Kayah State marked the 66th Kay Htoe Boe or Flagpole Festival in Loikaw on Saturday. The event began with the ceremonial offering of incense and traditional blessings as the flagpole was raised according to Kayah customs.

Chief Minister U Aunt Maw highlighted that the festival represents an important cultural heritage of Kayah State and serves as a platform for young people to preserve and respect their traditions, ensuring that these practices are passed on to future generations. Cash rewards were also presented to the organizing committee for successful hosting of the event.

The Chief Minister and party then enjoy the festival, together with the participants.
