






Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, accompanied by officials, on August 18, inspected the damage caused by the Mandalay earthquake on March 28.
He visited the convocation hall at the State Pariyatti Sasana University and the buildings at the Jivita Dana Sasana Specialist Hospital in Mandalay on August 18. He gave instructions for the reconstruction work, emphasizing the use of high-quality construction materials for long-term durability, adherence to specified standards, and compliance with the building's SOP.
At 9:00 AM, the Union Minister and officials attended a donation ceremony at the State Pariyatti Sasana University (Mandalay) in Aungmyaythazan Township. They offered various items to the Sayadawgyis and donated 60 million for the repair of the university's main convocation hall and 30 million for the repair of the Jivita Dana Sasana Specialist Hospital.
The Union Minister then met with civil servants working in the Mandalay Region and the Sagaing District and Township areas. He gave a speech and provided each of the 588 personnel with a 6-pyi bag of rice.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister and officials attended a cash donation ceremony and a Waso robe offering ceremony at the Mahavisutayama Monastery in Aungmyaythazan Township to help with the reconstruction of monasteries damaged by the Mandalay earthquake.
The Union Minister offered Waso robes and offertories. He then donated 10 million on behalf of himself and all walks of life. He also supplicated religious affairs. Following this, the Union Minister and officials visited the Masoeyein Taikthit Monastery in Mahaaungmyay Township. They paid respects to the Secretary Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, Bhaddanta Vasettabhivamsa , and offered Waso robes and cash donations, it’s learnt.
