Cambodia earns Guinness record for largest bridal carries

Hundreds of Cambodians have performed the largest bridal carry, winning a new place for the country in the Guinness book World Records. 245 Cambodian men simultaneously carried their wives, mothers, sisters or girlfriends at an event watched by Guinness representatives on Friday evening in Phnom Penh.

The event drew participants young and old. The "bridal carry" is so named for the way a groom in some cultures carries his bride over the threshold of their new home.
