Cambodia casino rescuers battling through smoke

Video shot Thursday inside a Cambodian hotel casino, badly damaged by fire, shows the conditions facing those engaged in the ongoing search and rescue operation.

At least 11 people have been killed and another 30 injured, some critically, according to the police, in the blaze at the Grand Diamond City Casino and Hotel, in the border town of Poipet.

Pictures from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, a Thai organization that helps rescue efforts at disaster scenes, shows its members in a smoke-filled area on the 15th floor, a flashlight cutting through the murky light. After checking in with another team on a separate floor, they enter a room from which smoke billows.

Thai rescuers and medical staff have been helping Cambodian authorities, as the complex is just a matter of metres across the border.
