Up to 30 homes were destroyed in bush fires which intensified in parts of Australia on Tuesday. Fires in northern New South Wales have been burning over the past few weeks. On Tuesday in Queensland, fires forced residents of several towns to evacuate. Residents of Laidley were allowed to return home on Wednesday after fire crews extinguished the blaze. There are currently close to 40 bush fires still ongoing across New South Wales and Queensland.
