


Organized by the Shwedagon Pagoda Treasurer's Board of Trustees, advanced Buddhist Culture and Ethic Course No.3 was opened at the Pagoda on Wednesday.
The course aimed for the staff of the Pagoda Treasurer's Board of Trustees and members of the Pagoda Sundry Tasks Association to give good services to pilgrims in line with Myanmar traditional Culture.
TheinHtutMaung, Alternate Chair, Shwedagon Pagoda Treasurer's Board of Trustees said “Myanmar culture is based on the Buddha’s teachings. To be able to know the Buddha’s teachings, MahaThatdhamaZotikaSuHtoo Pan Sayadaw and members will conduct the course. This advanced course is the 3rd time. The course mainly intends to our staff serving duties at the pagoda to understand more about Myanmar culture and practice the ethics.”
Arrangements are being made for the convenience of the pilgrims and religious sermons will be delivered to the people by Sayadaws at the pagoda during the Buddhist lent, the official of Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees said.
TheinHtutMaung, Alternate Chair, Shwedagon Pagoda Treasurer's Board of Trustees said “During the Buddhist Lent, Shwedagon Pagoda OvadaSariya Sayadaws will deliver sermons to people and pilgrims on Sabbath Day at the pagoda every week during the Buddhist Lent. The Pagoda Board of Trustees, the staffs and members are trying to be able to hold Buddha festivals during the Buddhist Lent like before. We open the pagoda from 5 am to 8 pm now. We have a plan to extend the pagoda opening hours later depending on the disease condition as the instruction of the Ministry of Health.”
40 trainees including 29 staffs who are serving at the Shwedagon Pagoda and 11 members of sundry tasks Association attend the advanced course. It is planned to open the advanced Buddhist Culture and Ethic Course monthly and more trainees will be accepted.
