Brazil firm to make Sputnik jabs for use in LatAm

A private Brazilian pharmaceutical company is producing the Russian designed Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine and company representatives will begin exporting millions of doses to the rest of Latin American in the coming months. Uniao Quimica which is based in Sao Paulo unveiled the product at a press conference Thursday and declared as many as 100 million doses a year of the vaccine will be available for Latin American countries desperate for Covid-19 vaccines. 

The vaccine has been used in Argentina this year and the Brazilian production could potentially be directed there and to other South American countries with low vaccine supplies. Vaccination rates throughout the region are low and have been hampered by government mismanagement, and scant supplies, hindering efforts to bring the pandemic under control in many countries.
