Boosting Production: Workshop on livestock and fisheries development

A workshop focusing on the development of livestock and fisheries in Nay Pyi Taw was held on July 16.

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Gyi emphasized efforts to ensure food safety, improve public nutrition, raise farmers’ incomes, and control livestock diseases.

He also discussed government support for investments in the livestock sector and plans to declare Nay Pyi Taw a disease-free zone for foot-and-mouth disease. Officials presented updates on the livestock and fisheries sectors, including disease prevention and food security. Local farmers also reported on implementing livestock works including dairy farming, cattle, pig, poultry, and fish farming.
