Blinken, Indian FM tout growing educational ties

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and his Indian counterpart, S. Jaishankar visited Howard University in the nation's capital, where they touted growing ties between the two countries in education.

Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Indian Minister of the Exterior said "Policymakers in both countries are sharply aware of the immense difference that our educational collaboration can make. On the Indian side, our 2020 National Education Policy contemplates, indeed prioritizes, international cooperation in education.”

Blinken pointed to a working group on education and skill training that had been announced one day earlier during the visit of India's foreign minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, to the United States.

Antony Blinken, U.S. Secretary of State said “A working group on education and skill training, which will bring academic institutions in the United States and India together to develop new joint research programs. The group will also focus on creating more opportunities for universities to partner on exchange programs.”
