Blacklist Relaxation: Blacklist eased for absent staff without criminal offences

Government staff who have been absent from duty for various reasons since February 2021 may be removed from departmental blacklists if they have not committed any criminal offences, according to the statement released by the Information Team of National Defence and Security Council. Some civil servants left their workplaces without official permission and were later included on departmental blacklists, causing them to live in fear and remain in hiding.

Authorities have now invited these individuals to report and make contact with their former departments, nearby township or district administration offices, regional or state authorities, or Myanmar embassies, military attaché offices, and consulates abroad. After verification, staff who are found not to have committed any crimes, as well as those who had committed offences but have already served their sentences, are being removed from the blacklist.
