Bilateral Relations: Meeting with the newly appointed ambassadors

Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe received Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Myanmar, with residence in Yangon, Mr. Maziad Mohammed Maziad Alhowishan, at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

The Union Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Myanmar. They cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to further cooperation between the two foreign ministries for strengthening bilateral relations, cooperation on energy, investment and other potential areas, ‌as well as the current situation in the Middle East. They also discussed cooperation at the bilateral and international levels.

Likewise, the Union Minister received Mr. Segundo Martin Calero Escorcia, Ambassador of Nicaragua to Myanmar in the same venue. During the meeting, the Union Minister congratulated the Nicaraguan Ambassador on his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua to Myanmar.

They cordially exchanged views on matters relating to the enhancement of existing bilateral relations between the two countries, including the reciprocal opening of embassies, the expansion of potential, mutually beneficial cooperation in tourism, agriculture, trade, and technology, as well as closer collaboration in international arenas.
