Biden says 'making real progress' with Gaza hostage deal

Joe Biden said Thursday there was "real progress" in talks for a ceasefire and hostage deal between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, an agreement the US president is pushing for in his last days in office."

Biden told reporters at the White House that there "will be able to have a prisoner exchange". Israel is holding over 10,300 Palestinian prisoners, while Hamas is said to be holding around 100 Israeli captives in Gaza. The Palestinian group also said that dozens of captives had died in indiscriminate Israeli airstrikes.
