Better Transportation: New bridge opened on Hkamti-Lahe Road in Sagaing Region

NantSaLein Creek Bridge on Hkamti-Lahe road was commissioned into service on 2nd July.

Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung attended the opening ceremony and made a speech, saying that the government is implementing for harmonious development of the regions and states including the fur-flung areas. 

Hkamti District and Naga Self-Administration Zone are the least developed areas with difficult access for transportation. For the socio-economic development of local residents in those areas, new roads and bridges were constructed while the existing ones were upgraded.

Ensuring better transportation access could help develop the businesses and commodity flow, leading to the economic development based on eco-system and traditional cultures.

The Union Minister stressed the needs to make efforts for long term maintenance of the facility. NantSaLein Creek Bridge is located on Mile Post No. 24/4 on Hkamti-Lahe  road.

The reinforced concrete bridge is 330.45 ft long and 30.5 ft wide with 3 ft clearance area. It can withstand 60 tons of load. The Bridge Special Unit (2) under the Ministry of Construction has undertaken the construction works with the budget of 1.6 billion kyats.
