Better Transportation: Inspection for better water route and extended rail services

Member of the State Administration Council Union Minister for Transport and Communication Admiral Tin Aung San visited the Headquarters of the Directorate of Water Resources and Improvement of River System in Pazundaung Township of Yangon on Saturday.

The Director General reported on the implementation of the projects being undertaken by the department. In meeting with the staff, the Union Minister gave instructions on implementation of the tasks to prevent river bank erosion for better water route with the designated design, meeting the set standards. He also stressed for using full capacity of machinery and work site safety.

The Union Minister later presented foodstuff to the staff. He then inspected the preparations for the Reference Library, construction of vessels, dock yard, machinery and office buildings and fulfilled the needs.

The Union Minister and party later proceeded to the site for over 1,900 ft long river bank retaining work project in Thingangyun Township, and gave instructions for greening and beautifying works along the river bank. They then inspected the beautifying work of jetty and river bank retaining work site in Thaketa Township and attended to the needs.

The Union Minister and then arrived at Yangon Railway Station and inspected the renovation of RBE coaches for extended operation of rail services.
