Better medical services: Meeting with medical staff of Nyaung-U People's Hospital

Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win together with officials visited the People's Hospital in Nyaung-U of Mandalay region on 18th June and met health staffs.

At the meeting, the Union Minister said that Nyaung-U is an important destination for tourism development in Myanmar and is a popular destination both local and foreign tourists.

Arrangements must be made for better medical services in Nyaung-U. Priority is being given to upgrading hospitals in the border areas that are accessible to international tourists.

Despite the need for health human resources, efforts must be done the best for the benefit of the people.

The Union Minister highlighted appointment of assistant doctors, opening assistant nursing trainings at the people's hospitals, local and abroad trainings, meetings and seminars for medical officers, plans to open post graudatue medical courses for 11 subects in 2023 academic year, measures for upgrading of hospital buildings, maintenance of hospital equipment and extension of staff housings, lab equipment and medicines for TB, HIV, Malaria diseases, timely emergency medical treatments and Hospital-based immunization. 

The specailists attending the meeting reported progress of works. The Union Minister and party then met departmental officials in Nyaung-U district and discussed measures for the convenience of medical treatments of Nyaung-U People's Hospital.

The Union Minister and party then conducted around the hospital and comforted the patients and provided the needs.
