





The men’s/women’s volleyball tournament of Myitkyina University in Kachin State for 2022-2023 academic year was opened on Wednesday.
At the event, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan said that by holding the sports competition in the school open season with the aim for producing new generation youths who are healthy, strong and highly qualified, the sports sector of the state will enhance more. Moreover, the national selected athletes will come out through such kind of events and the athletes who can take pride for the state can emerge by training with systematic way. Later, 24 men’s/women’s volley teams from Myitkyina University recited the oath and an alumnus provided cash for the competition. The Chief Minister and party then observed men’s and women’s volley competitions and presented cash asistance.
The Chief Minister and party then observed the sanitation activities of departmental organizations, local battalions, development committees, civil society organizations in the compound of Myitkyina university and distributed snacks and purified water bottles to those performing sanitation. They then looked into collective sanitation by township level departments and civil society organiztions in Mine Nar village-tract of Waing Maw Township and in the compound of Myitkyina General hospital and provided snacks, water bottles and cash assistance.
