The government and Tatmadaw have successfully restored electricity in Kyaukme of Northern Shan State, following counter-terrorism operations that reclaimed the town on October 1, 2025.

During the brief period of control by insurgents, offices, schools, hospitals, and power plants were damaged or burned, disrupting public services. The government prioritized reopening schools, hospitals, and providing electricity to support local development.

On November 4, at 6:00 PM, electricity from the Namt Saung Ngoun  Hydropower Plant was connected via an 11 kV line, supplying power to key facilities including police stations and temporary offices, township administration offices, schools and hospitals as well as banks and town hall. Authorities continue to work to restore power to remaining areas as quickly as possible.
