The 5th ASEAN Rural Development and Poverty Eradication Leadership Award Ceremony was jointly hosted by the National Anti-Poverty Commission of the Philippines and the ASEAN Secretariat on Thursday via video conferencing.
A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe and officials from prize winning Mega Global Green Automation company and Techno-Hill Engineering Company from Myanmar joined the ceremony.
The ceremony aimed to recognize the achievements of NGOs/CSOs and private sectors from ASEAN member states in the areas of rural development, livelihood development and poverty eradication and to enhance public-private partnership.
At the ceremony, the Deputy Secretary-General (DSG) of ASEAN and the Lead Convener of the National Anti-Poverty Commission of the Philippines gave inaugural speeches and awarding NGOs/CSOs and Private sectors from ASEAN countries reported implementations for the rural development tasks.
The prize winning Mega Global Green Automation Company and Techno-Hill Engineering Company as private sector from Myanmar reported efforts for rural electrification through power point presentation and received ASEAN Rural Development and Poverty Eradication Leadership Awards, receptively.
Union Minister U Hla Moe gave an honorary speech at the ceremony and called for working together more effectively in rural development and poverty eradication in the ASEAN region. He also expressed appreciations to award winning companies from Myanmar and presented certificate of honour.
