Australians pay tribute to cricket legend Warne

Australian personalities and fans have reacted to the death of cricket great Shane Warne, who died at the age of 52 on Friday while in Thailand.

Speaking next to the Shane Warne statue outside the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Andre, an old school friend of Warne, said the admired player always remained close to the community.

Many people were seen laying flowers and other tributes such as cans of beer and flags at the base of the Shane Warne statue outside the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Saturday.

Shane Warne, is regarded as one of the greatest players, most astute tacticians and ultimate competitors in the long history of cricket. A statement from the family said Shane Warne died of a suspected heart attack in Koh Samui, Thailand.
