Australia to provide lethal military equipment to Ukraine

Australia will provide lethal military equipment to Ukraine to help resist the Russian invasion. Australia's Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced the move on Monday but gave no details on what it may be sending.

Australia's pledge to provide lethal aid to Ukraine follows an earlier offer on Friday of non-lethal military equipment, medical supplies and a $3 million contribution to a NATO trust fund for Ukraine.

Australia has imposed sanctions on more than 350 Russian individuals, including President Vladimir Putin on Thursday.
