Attack on Myitkyina Airport : Drone attack in Myitkyina foiled, no damage reported

Security forces successfully prevented an FPV suicide drone attack on Myitkyina Airport in Kachin State on Thursday morning. It is reported that, drones were launched toward the airport and nearby areas.

Air defense personnel detected the drones in advance and intercepted them before they could reach their targets. The drones reportedly crashed near the runway area without exploding inside the airport compound. The explosive materials attached to the drones were safely neutralized.

No casualties or damage to airport buildings or the runway were reported. Officials condemned the attack on the civilian airport, calling it a violation of international law, and said investigations are ongoing in cooperation with local communities.
