Assistance for Flood Victims : Chief Minister provides support to flood victims in Pindaya

Due to heavy rains from July 25 to 27, Pindaya Township in the Danu Self-Administered Zone experienced flash floods, landslides, damaged homes, roads, and bridges, and casualties.

On August 2, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung inspected the flood-affected areas, including Ponetalote Lake, and discussed measures to reduce water levels. At temporary flood shelters, the Chief Minister provided aid supplies and cash assistance to displaced residents.

He also visited damaged shops at Shwe U Min Cave Pagoda, offering 7 million kyat for cleaning and restoration. In Kone Zaung and Ohn At အုံအက် villages, 19 families with completely destroyed homes received 1 million kyat each, and 4 families with partial damage got 500,000 kyat each.

Additional support included over 7.36 million kyat from the disaster relief fund and 15 million kyat from the village development fund, along with solar lights. The Chief Minister urged reforestation to prevent future disasters and pledged continued support for recovery and infrastructure repairs, including roads, bridges, and electricity services. He also inspected a damaged bridge on the Pindaya-Yatsauk road, where a temporary Bailey bridge is being built.
