








A ceremony was held at Novotel Yangon Max to honor the Myanmar women’s national football team for winning 2nd place in the 2025 ASEAN Women’s Championship, held in Viet Nam.
The event was attended by Myanmar Olympic Committee Chairman Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and Hotels and Tourism Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and concerned officials as well as Myanmar Olympic Committee members, Myanmar Football Federation Chairman and invited guests.
During the event, a video recap of the team’s performance was shown. The Union Minister praised the team for bringing honor to the nation and encouraged them to aim for championship victory in the upcoming 33rd SEA Games. The team received 80,000 US dollar in rewards, presented by the State Security and Peace Commission.
Additional cash rewards totaling over 863 million kyats were also presented for the team. Top scorer Win Theingi Tun sent a thank-you message via video, and team captain Khin Marlar Tun expressed gratitude on behalf of the team.
