Chambroad’s 65-million dollar proposal for a luxury hotel at Kangaroo Bay on Hobart’s eastern shore in Austria was granted major project status by the Planning Minister last week.

In the submission it outlines 100 full time equivalent jobs in construction and 443 equivalent jobs across the region.But those job numbers are now under scrutiny after documents tabled in Tasmania’s parliament showed the Department of Treasury had initially noted that the “the veracity of these estimates cannot be tested.”

In response the State Planning Office revealed it’d run the numbers past Microsoft’s A-I assistant Copilot and found Chambroad’s estimates were “reasonable”.This is an alarming use of a new technology.
