Demonstrations were held on Thursday in the centre of Buenos Aires and other provinces to demand justice for the death of a young man allegedly at the hands of the police. Protesters also called for the resignation of the Minister of Security of the province of Buenos Aires. The last image of the young man alive show his from behind, next to a police truck and an agent with a mask holding him by the arm at a checkpoint south of the province of Buenos Aires.

The photograph, whose author is unknown, dates back to the end of April and is part of the evidence that implicates the police in the death of the 22-year-old, in the middle of Argentina's coronavirus quarantine. While family and human rights organizations believe the young man was another victim of institutional violence, his case has unleashed tensions within the government coalition of Alberto Fernandez. President Alberto Fernández has met with Castro's mother and insisted a proper investigation was being undertaken.
