Argentina crowns couple Tango world champions

Argentine dancers Nicolás Schell and Nair Schinca won the Stage Tango category at the 2026 Tango BA World Championship in Buenos Aires. Schell and Schinca captured the world title in Stage Tango the highly acrobatic and theatrical branch of Argentine tango that blends classical, contemporary, and dramatic elements.

The duo are seasoned performers in the global tango scene and directors of the Tango Company at Argentina's National University of Arts. The Tango BA World Championship is the world's premier tango competition, held annually in Buenos Aires, drawing hundreds of elite dancers from across the globe.
