Approval of Party Registration: UEC approved NGWP for party registration

Individuals seeking to establish political parties have been submitting applications to the Union Election Commission (UEC), specifying the names of the parties they intend to form.

As of today on 25th July, 27 groups have applied for permission to establish political parties, of which 22 parties have been granted permission to form.

Among the 22 granted political parties, the New Generation Wunthanu Party, led by U Aung Kyi Myaing, has applied this day for official registration as a political party in accordance with Section 7 of the Political Parties Registration Law, within 30 days from the date it was granted permission to establish the party.

Of the 20 political parties that have applied for registration, 15 parties have already been granted registration, while the remaining parties are still under review by the Union Election Commission, which is continuing the vetting process.
