Application for Party Registration: PNDP applied for party registration

Those seeking to establish political parties have been applying to the Union Election Commission, specifying the name of the party they wish to form.

Up to the present date, 27 groups have applied for permission to establish political parties, and out of those, 22 parties have been granted permission to form. Among these 22 parties, the Pa-O National Development Party, led by U Soe Pu, has applied to the Commission for registration as a political party on August 12, in accordance with Article 7 of the Political Parties Registration Law, within 30 days from the date the party was granted establishment permission. Out of the 22 political parties that applied for registration, permission was denied to one party, while 18 parties have been approved for registration.

The Union Election Commission is continuing to scrutinize the remaining parties for potential registration approval, it’s learnt.
