Anti-Mosquito Spraying: Dengue Prevention Measures In Kamayut Township

To prevent from the outbreak of dengue infection, Department of Public Health (Kamayut) conducted the field work of anti-mosquito spraying.

The activities were carrying out at the housings of Myanma Radio and Television - MRTV (Yangon) such as SeikPyoYay, NanatTaw and WailuWon housingson 13th September.

Myint Ohn, Healthcare Worker said “We are conducting the field work in this housing to prevent the dengue infection and eliminate the Aedes mosquitoes. We sprayed the anti-mosquito spray in front and the back of houses. We also added the abate powder into the water to prevent the lay of mosquitoes’ egg and carried out these activities once every 3 months. We are doing our best to prevent the residents from getting dengue fever.”

A resident said that the anti-mosquito spray made children and elderly safe from the dengue infection. 

Tin Tin Maw, Resident said “This kind of activities is very good because it can prevent many diseases caused by mosquitoes. The anti-mosquito spaying should be carried out more often during this mosquito abundant season.”

Dengue fever is a tropical disease caused by a virus carried by mosquitoes. The virus can cause fever, headaches, rashes and pain throughout the body. Most cases of dengue fever are mild and go away on their own after about a week.
